LASSO3 Transition
LASSO 3 Transition is one of the transition programs housed at Laremont School. This program is a continuation of the LASSO 3 program at Fairhaven. LASSO 3 Transition provides a highly individualized and structured environment, featuring a 1:1 student-to-teacher ratio.
LASSO 3 is one of three specialized programs within the Transition Center at Laremont School. Designed for students ages 18-22, the LASSO 3 classroom provides a highly structured environment with a 1:1 student-to-teacher ratio, supporting individualized learning.
At the Transition Center, students focus on transition goals and postsecondary objectives through hands-on learning in diverse spaces, including a market prep area, vocational room, mock apartment, sensory room, gym, and various electives. The curriculum emphasizes independent living, communication, emotional regulation, functional academics, and employment skills, preparing students for successful adult life. The Transition Center currently includes eight classrooms, each tailored to foster these critical skills.
Additionally, students in the LASSO 3 program benefit from increased community-based learning opportunities. Each week, students have opportunities to engage in curriculum-based instruction that reinforces their transition goals. With a strong emphasis on employment skills, LASSO 3 students participate in meaningful job experiences, both within the school and at various off-campus sites, providing them with practical work experience in real-world settings.
