Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Elizabeth Peszat
Welcome to room 208! Our classroom is part of the Intermediate pod and our students are in 4th-6th grade. We begin our day with a calendar time where we look at the date, weather, and special days on the calendar. We also say hello to eachother and say the Pledge of Allegiance. Students will typically complete vocational work in the morning. Each student is working on individualized tasks such as putting things in, taking things out, sorting, and activating a paper shredder/pencil sharpener with a switch.
We follow the Unique curriculum which sets a theme for the month. Each day we complete academic activities based on the monthly theme. These activities allow our students to experience the curriculum through reading, science, math, and writing. On Wednesdays, students participate in functional academic groups with intermediate pod peers. These groups focus on numbers, science, measurement, and data analysis. Each Thursday students are rotate througha series of curriculum groups focused on literacy, movement, sensory, and art. These weekly groups allow stuents to interract with other teachers and students within the intermediate pod.
Each month our class takes a trip into the community. These trips are related to the curriculum unit and give the students the opportunity to work on skills such as staying with the group, following directions, and experiencing different aspects of our community.
Thank you for visiting our classroom!
