Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Michelle Clark

John Powers Center has been my second home and family since I was 8 years old.  That is when my younger brother started school here.  It was then that I realized I wanted to be a Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher.

I graduated from Illinois State University in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in Deaf education.  I also received my early childhood endorsement.  As soon as I graduated, I started working towards my master's degree.  I attended National Louis University and graduated with a Language and Literacy degree in 1999.

I have taught in SEDOL's Deaf and Hard of Hearing program since 1993.  I have taught itinerant students, EC, K, 2-3rd grade and middle school.  I've always known my "LOVE" is with early childhood students.  Their love and excitement for learning is evident in everything they do.  I am always amazed at each child's language and academic growth by the time they move on to kindergarten.  Each child's smile warms my heart and makes my day!
