The Laremont ELP Intermediate classrooms had the wonderful opportunity of having WGN News meteorologist Tim McGill speak to them about weather and his job on Tuesday, April 24th, 2018. In March, the students learned about the various aspects of weather, and Andre Probst, Intermediate ELP teacher, and Rose Ring, Speech-Language Pathologist, had the students write letters to Chicagoland TV meteorologists asking for them to come speak to them. Tim McGill responded promptly and generously donated his time to speak to our students about tornadoes, thunderstorms, lightning, and being a meteorologist. He also brought props to go along with his weather discussion, which the students enjoyed. A highlight of the presentation was having students ask Mr. McGill questions using speech generated devices that they came up with prior to the speech. Mr. McGill did a remarkable job interacting and speaking with the students. A special thanks to Mr. McGill for coming to Laremont!
